Today I'm bringing back Controversial Topic Tuesday!
Today's Topic: Money... and how freakin' expensive wedding are!
I keep getting the question, "So, do you have everything done for your wedding?"
And my answer, a definite "No." And we've been in a wedding-purchasing slump for the past few weeks. Why? Well, Jason got laid off.
Honestly, he hated his job, and so it's not that bad of a deal... but it just sucks. He's had some 6 interviews, but nothing worthwhile.
So why am I wedding blogging about this? Well, wedding purchases have been put on hold until further notice. I'm really struggling with what I NEED to buy, and what I just WANT. Can I justify buying cocktail napkins? Does anyone even care about centerpieces? I fell in love with a dress... but is it worth $1000 to wear it for one freakin' day?
I'm such a perfectionist, I don't want to cut corners... but I'm such a penny-pincher, I can't justify buying ANYTHING right now.
So, former brides: what can I cut out? What can I skimp on to save some money? And similarly, where should I NOT make cuts?
I can only imagine what you are going though.. our wedding just happened on 9/4. And I still feel like we are facing the after math of having to pay for a wedding. We are trying to catch up on our bills.. its draining. However totally worth it! I was able to cut back on a couple things like a limo ( our reception and ceremony were in the same place) so why pay for that. In regards to flowers I paid a florist to do my centerpieces, my bouquet and girls bouquet. All the other flowers I got at the flower district ( save so much money). I DID allot of DIY ..
