Shopping with Jason!

Believe it or not, Jason actually volunteered to go shopping with me... TWICE in one week! :o)

We wanted to look at options for him and the groomsmen to wear.  Our wedding is a little more casual than the usual "rented tuxedo" look.  Plus, with it being summer, we didn't want to put the guys through wearing a heavy wool suit.  Instead, the thought is to buy Jason a suit for the wedding and buy the groomsmen pants, a shirt, and a tie.

First we went to Express one night this week after school.  I originally wanted him in a gray suit and the groomsmen in gray pants, a black shirt, and a silver/gray tie.  However, Jason didn't really like that look when he tried it out.  I think of gray as a more modern color of a suit... Jason thinks it's the "old man" color.  He hated it so much he wouldn't even let me take pictures.

We flipped the gray and black: black pants, gray shirt, black tie.  Liked that look better (but not as much with the jacket).

Here are the pics from Express.

(he wouldn't let me take pictures of his face... stupid, I know.)
Then today we went back to the mall and went to Dillard's and J.C. Penny's.  After a couple of hours of trying on combinations of black and gray, he tried out a black suit (with vest), white shirt, and pink tie... AND I LOVE IT... We BOTH love it!!!

He's even smiling in the picture!

When I suggesting the groomsmen wearing the same pants and shirt (black pants, white shirt), but with a black tie, Jason shot it down... he didn't want our groomsmen to look like the religious people that solicit door-to-door (or on the Pitt State campus).

So the thought for groomsmen: black pants, silver shirt, black (and silver) tie, with a pink boutonniere... like the first pic from Express, but maybe a lighter shade of gray?

Express is definitely going to be more expensive... but Jason liked the look and feel of their stuff better.

So what do you think?  Comments/ideas/suggestions?  Is a gray suit really "old man" looking?  (Josh, I KNOW you read this blog... here's your chance to have some say in what you're wearing!)
